Laser marking systems

The situation is different with those systems which are intended to be integrated into an existing production line. In this case, the manufacturer does indeed give advice about technical safety but the responsibility for protection from radiation lies with the integrator or, respectively, the operator.

In this case, lasers which work in a range of wavelengths between 350 nm and 1,400 nm are particularly critical.

The real danger is often underestimated and particularly if the laser is specified by its average performance, which is mainly only 30 W or 50 W, whereas the peak pulsed performance can amount to several kilowatts.

The formerly popular measurement of scattered radiation that was made in this case is less convincing and indeed unsuitable for making a clear statement about classifying a system.
